Budgie Vitamins and Pharmaceuticals
In the following we will reveal which are the most important budgie vitamins and last but not least what pharmaceuticals should not miss to any budgie breeder.
The need for nutrients is extremely important for healthy growth of your parakeet:
- water
- mineral salts
- amino acids
- vitamins
- carbohydrates
- fat
- proteins
Note that when you feed the budgerigar you should avoid:
- a poor diet (especially in the breeding season, during growth or winter)
- a diet too rich in vitamins (vitamin overdose)
Below are presented the functions of vitamins and foods where you can find them, in order to have a healthy budgerigar:

- Antibiotics (streptomycin, oxytetracycline)
