The need for nutrients is extremely important for healthy growth of your parakeet:

  • water
  • mineral salts
  • amino acids
  • vitamins
  • carbohydrates
  • fat
  • proteins

Note that when you feed the budgerigar you should avoid:

  1. a poor diet (especially in the breeding season, during growth or winter)
  2. a diet too rich in vitamins (vitamin overdose)
